AMY'S JOURNEY
My body has done a reset
“Having the coaching and support from the study was really crucial, and using the CGM so I could see what was happening. I really think it starts with mindful self-compassion, and then educating yourself with the science so you can find the eating method that is right for you. There are lots of ways to do this, but it starts with figuring out what foods personally are raising your blood sugar.”
CHRIS'S JOURNEY
Feel empowered and inspired
“You don’t have to be on medication for life. And you will feel so much better. I think I want other young people to know that remission is possible. To feel empowered and inspired. There is a lot of stigma attached to having type 2 diabetes when you are younger. You can go into denial and get depressed like I was. But I want people to know there is hope, that you can overcome it. You don’t have to be on medication for life. And you will feel so much better. I recently finished my pharmacy degree and I hope as a pharmacist that I can be part of helping people with type 2 diabetes learn about remission and supporting them to try it.”
TERESA'S JOURNEY
Healthy life forward
“I can’t believe I feel better at 60 than I did for the last 10 years. I am even becoming a role model in the Filipino community. In six months of this low carb intermittent fasting “LCIF” program I put my diabetes into remission and restored my blood glucose to healthy ranges (A1C 5.2 %). I no longer have fatty liver and my blood pressure is normal. I lost almost almost 30 kg and I am now 44 kg, which I find easy to maintain. I now work out regularly with a personal trainer”
JJ'S JOURNEY
A new hope
“I honestly feel I was saving my life. I feel so much better. I’ve had my ups and downs. Covid was hard, and I put some weight back on. I’ve had to recommit a couple of times. Now I am back on Ideal Protein, about 50 % of the time. I try to eat no carbs after lunch. A year ago my blood sugar was rising again and my doctor also put me on Ozempic. I am getting good results. My weight is stable and my blood sugar is good.”
AUDREY’S JOURNEY
A journey of small, steady steps
“I developed type 2 diabetes after my pregnancies, and even with multiple medications, my blood sugar remained difficult to manage. When I started using a continuous glucose monitor (CGM), I finally saw how my food choices affected me in real time. By simply changing the order of my meals and focusing on vegetables first, I brought my HbA1c down to 5.8—without medication. My remission has been a journey of small, steady steps, and I hope my story encourages others to start their own journey toward better health”
